Post by: jensia on July 08, 2011, 04:21:03 am
How much will a person, just out of law school, make in a big city law firm as a Criminal Defense Attorney. Let's say Washington, DC or Boston, MA. Please answer only if you are a lawyer or have a vast amount of knowledge in the nature of this question. Thank you!

A criminal defense lawyer is usually an envoy for people indicted in law-breaking. These misdeeds vary from driving under the influence, custody of illegal drugs and domestic aggression, to professional conspiracy, drug schemes and armed theft. The salary range actually depends on their years of experience, kind of criminal law they practice, size of their firm, the country where they practice, and the specific locale where they set up their practice. Defense lawyers get paid by their clients when they are privately hired or by the federal government when they are appointed to represent a particular client. There are actually many factors that affect their salaries. Usually private attorneys get a flat fee and then charge additionally if the case goes to trial.
