The main drawback of a reburished system is the lack of warranty. Basically a refurbished system is a used system or used parts that have been reset back to factory specifications, cleaned up tested and repaired if necessary then reassembled and sold. They have to label it as refurbished because it isn't new but it has been restored to like new condition. Whether its a good idea or not that is personal preference, I myself don't mind if its refurbished because it is cheaper and will run like new, if something does happen I can normally repair it.
